Machinery Operator

Hawke's Bay Full-Time Contract/Temp

Are you interested in driving a tractor? We are looking for a motivated person to become part of our dynamic team. While prior tractor operating experience is a plus, we will offer on-the-job training to the right person who is motivated and has the right attitude.

As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills by manoeuvring through our orchard safely distributing both empty and full apple bins with finesse.

Apple Pickers

Hawke's Bay Full-Time Contract/Temp

We are looking for individuals who are excited to be a part of our apple picking experience, located in Ongaonga, Central Hawkes Bay.

This role requires some physical activity, including reaching, bending, and climbing ladders. Therefore, a moderate level of physical fitness is required to handle the tasks involved. Our friendly and knowledgeable team will provide you with all the training you need to become a skilled apple picker. Not only will you have the satisfaction of harvesting our apples, but you'll also enjoy the benefits of working outdoors.

Orchard Quality Control

Hawke's Bay Full-Time Fixed-Term

We're looking for individuals with excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds to join us for harvest. You must also be willing to work in all weather conditions to ensure that our apples are inspected efficiently.

As a QC, you will be responsible for ensuring that our apples meet the highest standards of quality. This role requires some physical activity, including reaching, bending, and lifting, so a moderate level of physical fitness is required. But don’t worry, our knowledgeable team will provide you with all the training you need to succeed.

Spray Operator/Orchard Hand

Gisborne Full-Time Permanent

Are you ready to tackle the role as Spray Operator/Orchard Hand? Join our team and become a crucial part of our mission to cultivate thriving crops and maintain our beautiful apple orchards.

As our Spray Operator/Orchard Hand, you'll be at the forefront of our spraying operations, ensuring the health and vitality of our crops while adhering to strict safety protocols and compliance standards. But that's not all – you'll also dive into a variety of other tasks, from mowing and weed spraying to property maintenance and tree husbandry work. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to showcase your skills and make a real impact.

Leading Hand

Gisborne Full-Time Permanent

We're looking for a driven and dependable Leading Hand to join our Gisborne Apples team. As a Leading Hand you'll be responsible for all aspects of in-field operations, including pest and disease, staff supervision, record keeping, and machinery tasks. You will have the opportunity to train staff on seasonal tasks, onboard new teams and assist with the general running of teams as guided by orchard management.

Maintenance Mechanic

Hawke's Bay Full-Time Permanent

As a key member of our apple division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the general and preventative maintenance and repairs of all plant and machinery. Your responsibilities will include assembling, maintaining, and repairing machinery and vehicles, as well as fixed infrastructure such as buildings, irrigation systems, and fertigation systems. You will ensure the functionality and reliability of all machines, engines, hydromatic, and mechanical systems. Additionally, you will liaise and coordinate with key service providers to ensure regular maintenance is conducted and compliance is maintained, including WOF and service under warranties.

Craigmore Sustainables Scholarships

Growing the future of agriculture

In conjunction with Lincoln University, we offer two postgraduate scholarships to students completing study and research in agriculture and related areas.

The Craigmore Sustainables Farming Scholarship was established in 2013 and in addition to supporting study, it provides the opportunity to conduct research on a Craigmore dairy farm.

The Craigmore Sustainables and Wilson Family Sustainability in Primary Industries Scholarship was introduced in 2023. Craigmore received the Fonterra Responsible Dairying Award and the John Wilson Memorial Trophy at the 2022 New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards for demonstrating leadership in sustainable dairy farming. Thanks to this award, we have launched a second scholarship.
