Josh, supported by his wife Becs, manages the North Canterbury Pod which includes three dairy farms, Landsend, Darnley and Caithness.
Josh’s first herd manager role was in 2006 on a 300 hectare, 1250 cow farm in Tasmania. There he designed and implemented pasture management and irrigation regimes (under four centre pivots). This farm was Becs’ introduction to the dairy industry, working as Shed Manager. Moving back to New Zealand, Josh and Becs became Farm Managers at a farm in Waituna West, responsible for 1700 cows. They then progressed as managers of an even larger 600 hectare farm with over 2500 cows, in Central Hawkes Bay.
Josh and Becs came to Craigmore to manage Landsend in North Canterbury, and, shortly thereafter were promoted to manage the Pod. As Pod Managers, they look forward to helping build a successful team of farm managers and staff, alongside the development of Craigmore. Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Massey University, specialising in pasture management, while Becs graduated with a degree in Resource and Environmental Planning.
