Squash

Squash is a member of the pumpkin family of fruit. Our squash is grown on the highly fertile soils around Gisborne, on the East Coast of the North Island.

What do we do?

We grow the extremely sweet tasting Kabocha variety, very popular for making vegetable tempura in Japan. Coxco (www.coxco.co.nz), our horticulture division exports the produce direct to Japanese supermarket chains, under our own Safe NZ quality assurance label.
